Senior Lecturer, Bachelor of Policing
Dr Michael Kennedy began working as a police officer in NSW in 1978. He completed work with Bass Hill station and the Mounted Unit at Redfern before moving onto become a plain clothes officer and then a detective at the Bureau of Crime Intelligence, the Major Crime Squad and the Organised Crime Squad.
Michael also conducted crime research in Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, and has given advice about police and crime issues to several TV shows.
Michael is now in charge of the University of Western Sydney’s Bachelor of Policing program, and helps teach others about policing. He specialises in criminal investigation, interview techniques, undercover operations and gathering criminal intelligence among other subjects.
He has written many articles on police issues.
