Michael Heimlich began his career in electronics and software. After graduate studies at Stanford and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he returned to the industry to focus on technical designs.
In 1995 Dr. Heimlich became the Chief Technology Officer for VistaCAD and SmartLynx, two Electronic Design Automation (EDA) companies. In 2009, Dr. Heimlich received an appointment to Macquarie University in wireless communications and was the first person to receive the David Skellern Electronics Research Grant.
Professor Heimlich has conducted research internships at large companies including Eastman Kodak, IBM Research, and M/A-COM. Dr. Heimlich is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has served on the technical program committee for IEEE Design Automation Conference (DAC).
Professor Heimlich has published in a variety of areas including antenna design, and has been invited to speak at many events as an expert in his field.
